Reflection #3

SNL Skit
What: It is a Saturday night live commercial for online college. It is a spoof on what student miss out on when they attend an online college.
So what: Have you ever heard the saying that you can have too much of a good thing? I think that is the main idea behind this skit. In the skit they are basically mocking people that get their degree online because they miss out on so much that goes on in a classroom. It is hard to replicate human interaction on a computer. There is a lot of focus for us new teachers to be well versed in technology and to make sure that we use it, but we also can't forget about classic teaching methods that we grew up with too.
Now what: I think too much focus can be put on technology sometimes. I feel like sometimes people try to hard to integrate it into everything they do when sometimes it is just easier and faster to use a normal white board. We need to be careful that we are not cutting corners in our classrooms but catering to all students.
